Halldórsskora (Elephant Rock)
A dramatic sea cliff that looks like a giant elephant drinking from the ocean. It’s a quick, unforgettable photo stop- expect wind and uneven ground near the edge, so watch your footing.

Fuglaskoðunarhús (Puffin Lookout) – Stórhöfði
One of the best puffin viewpoints in Iceland, with a sheltered hut and boardwalks. Peak season runs roughly late April to early September; keep a respectful distance from nesting birds.



Klif (Cliff)
A short, steep path above the harbor with railings and great views over town and the sea stacks. Wear sturdy shoes; the trail can be windy or slippery in rain and winter conditions.

Beluga Whale Sanctuary (tickets included)
Visit the SEA LIFE TRUST Beluga Whale Sanctuary’s visitor center to learn about rescued belugas and local marine life. Timed entry; follow staff guidance around indoor exhibits and the harbor area.


Eldheimar Volcano Museum (ticket included)
Explore the “Pompeii of the North,” an immersive museum about the 1973 eruption that buried parts of Heimaey. See excavated homes and multimedia exhibits; plan about 45–60 minutes.
